It seems as I search the Internet for Autogyro kits, I am disappointed that I cannot find any kits which include the engine, gauges, electric start, brakes and pretty much ready to fly for $15K or so....
I suppose that these are not as popular as ultralight aircraft, which a nice brand new kit with everything is about $15K.
If anyone knows of new kits (not used in this case), please let me know...

Tony the problem is that many of the ultralight type manufactures pulled out of the market or sold to overseas companies during the 2009 LSA rule changes...Also Rotax dropped all but the 582 from their 2 stroke lineup, now a 582 new costs around $8k .
MZ sold to China, Hirths are questionable and still same as rotax price wise.
Rotor blade manufactures also have been dwindling, the only serious U.S. blade MFG is sportcopter, Other blades are available from overseas, but most blades will cost around $3K . Carbon fiber propeller, about $1k, and then the rotor head $700-$1000. All new mind you, used parts can be had if you are good at scrounging and making road trips.
So just for the engine, prop, rotors, rotorhead, you are around $13,000 for the stuff you cant make.
Add instruments, wheels, brakes, fuel tank, seat, harness, cable, wires, tail assy, aluminum tubing, hardware, never mind the labor to put the kit together, drill holes and pkg etc.. as much as it bothers me also , I think the days of the $10-$15k gyro are over, unless you score a good deal on something used.

Hi Scott, so that was what I was thinking while browsing the Net. So appears that gyros may go by the wayside, unless one can spring for an autogyro at the same price as a lot of LSA aircraft.
I just wondering if the club will every expand, but after talking with Jon C. appears there are no more hangars available as well. I was thinking of getting a UL aircraft (Aerolite 103), but no hangar space anywhere that I can find.

Tony, don't be discouraged, there was a guy at Cedartown that was selling a Flightstar II sc light sport aircraft, it is ready to fly and He was willing to let it go fairly cheap, you could probably get his hangar too.
Not sure if He still has it but it was a good looking aircraft.
There is a concept plan coming soon, that will use the YG3 as an engine on a single place machine.
