Out of the Pattern

Lots of us have been talking about getting out of the pattern and going places.  A few have ventured around a little, but not a lot.  As a beginning to gyroplane travel, Alex, Kurt, Rex and I made a trip to Rome this past Saturday.  Not exactly an epic world journey, but a very pleasant flight on a beautiful day.  I can't help wondering what people thought when they saw 3 gyros and a Baby Ace flying over.

Excellent!!

I took some of the BarnStormers for their first " out of pattern cross country" a few weeks ago....they were excited.

Its amazing how small the world becomes when you fly places.

Hope to see you all in October!!!

Be safe!

Unfortunately my new airstrip is not a good spot, with all the neighbors, to stay in the pattern.   So now most of my flights are cross country and or well away from my hangar.

Rome Pancake Breakfast

Billy, Rex and I flew up Saturday to Rome EAA Chapter 709 Pancake Breakfast.  The weather was beautiful and there was a good crowd at the EAA clubhouse.  Over a dozen airplanes, but only one gyroplane, your's truly with Billy in the front.  It was good to see the folks up there again.

Those who have been Peach State members will remember when we used to meet at Rome and share the facilities with EAA Chapter 709.  We look forward to going back again next time their breakfast does not conflict with our meetings at Cedartown and the weather is cooperative.

Rex flew the Baby Ace.  Again, it proved to be a good match for flying with gyroplanes, having comparable cruising speeds.
