Bad news Chris Lord died yesterday
Chris was the DPE for my CFI. Horrible news. Not a good year at all for gyroplane fatalities.
I heard from a reliable source that it was a rebuilt (roll-over) Calidus. Also included in the rumor was that the machine had potential issues.
Clearly, it was not pilot error.
FAA has it as N198LT Cavalon.
Funny how people get Cavalon and Calidus mixed up a lot.
.....why would you take a passenger? I heard that rumor too. I heard Chris said it was a very poor build. Must have thought they were corrected??
