Not-4th-of-July Cookout

PLEASE NOTE!!! THIS THREAD IS FOR THE 2018 EVENT,  PLEASE DO NOT MISTAKE THE INFO BELOW AS CURRENT!!!.

Folks,

Please mark Saturday July 14th on your calendars for the annual Peach State “Not-4th-of-July” covered-dish Cookout.  Last year, we had about 50 people in attendance… lots of good food… gyro flying… some guitar pickin’ & singing… a LOT of talkin’ gyros, and a whole bunch of fun!  This year is sure to be similarly great as well so please plan to attend.  This is a great one to bring your spouses, children, and friends to.

I will post a food list below that I will keep updated up until the Cookout.

Location:  Cedartown Airport – 4A4 (Polk County – Cornelius Moore Field)

Time: 9:00am

Food is provided by covered-dish, but if you can’t bring anything, no worries...  Bring yourself.   We’d like to see you more than the food.  There will be plenty.  The meats will be grilled onsite.

Aside from food, please do bring a camp chair for yourself... if you have one... and bring one for a friend, if you have two.  We are a bit short on chairs.

That being said, here is the food list.  Please either ping on this thread what you can bring, or reply to an email that Mark will be sending out. Please do reply in some way because I also need a head-count for planning.

Some updates

Thanks Jimmy.

I have added you to the list above, and made some other updates as well.

Hey... Jon would like to pass the torch as grill master this year due to other things that will take-up his time.  Anyone else want to take the reins on that?

Mark

GyroGeorgia
Grill-master

I will take the roll of grill-master... if I can make it there...

If you need to start cooking, and I am not there... someone take over... :)

We will bring buns (both kinds), condiments (ketchup, mustard, mayo, relish), a box of burgers and Diet Coke (no surprise, there). We also have a lot of packaged take-away utensils.

Bringing list is longer

Thanks Jon!

The "Bringing" list of items is now officially longer than the need/wish list!

Tom Duncan
2020 Picnic

July 11th is the logical date.  For selfish reasons, Danita and I are hoping for Jully 18th.  We could make a trip from Texas that weekend on our way to Indiana for the PRA convention.

Maybe

there is a date now?

Not Yet

I was not able to talk about the July 4th thing at the meeting.  I'll get with some people this week and try to figure it out.

....but I did get a date for Wrens!
