Just hung my new prop on the gyro today, I know this needs to go into the aircraft logs but I was wondering if there was a standard as to how entry are to be made. What all info needs to be entered? Does how it's worded make much difference?

Aircraft log book entrys
The FAA is absolutely fixated on props. So yes, you must do that.
The general entry format must include:
Date
Work done, including description of parts replaced, added, restored, etc.
Work done by (name and/or repair license number)
For props, it is absolutely critical to include the serial number (or numbers).
Most aircraft have and Engine Log and Airframe log. In this case, the prop data typically goes in the Engine log. Some people choose to have a separate log for Prop and Rotor, but it is not required to be a separate log.
